A Presentation of Sørreisa sentralskole Sørreisa sentralskole has two parallel classes in each form. It is a six-year school providing primary and secondary education. Furthermore, Sørreisa sentralskole currently comprises of two levels, the three year primary level (forms 5 to 7) and the lower secondary level (forms 8 to 10). These levels are both administratively and pedagogically integrated following the national standard of curriculum as stated in L-97. All in all there are 270 pupils enrolled. The school buildings have seen a renewal of 30 mill NOK and is now one of the grandest around. The heart of our school consists of latest media and computer facilities. Our pupils love the spacious feeling of making use of these appliances. There is a special wing, which accommodates arts and crafts, music and home economics. Nearby soundproof partitions separates the main classrooms providing easy additional space if needed. Local authorities voted for an investment of 1 mill NOK to be spent on latest ICT technology in our schools this spring. Come August it’s ready for use. Among other things, our educational policy has important areas of commitment. In fact, Sørreisa sentralskole was among the first to apply the Olweus idea of fighting bullying and victimisation. Forms five to seven were among the first in the county of Troms to make use of this idea. The Olweus project is highly regarded on both national and international levels. Another vital issue is the application of ICT in different disciplines. Previous fresh aims in these fields now prove right. Hopefully, our efforts with new technologies are both evident and crucial for modern methods of learning.
